A platform for booking paid consulting sessions with experienced consultants. My own idea, built at a Startup Weekend and taken to a working product.
About the project
bookwasta.com is a platform for booking consulting sessions. Someone browses the consultants, picks a session length, chooses a time from the consultant's own availability, pays, and gets a meeting link. The interface is in Arabic and runs right to left.
It started as my own idea at a Startup Weekend and I built it myself: the React frontend, the Supabase backend behind it, sign in by email code and by Google, consultant profiles and their services, the availability calendar with blocked dates, the booking flow, payments through Wayl, and the sessions dashboard where a booking moves from pending to scheduled to completed.
The part I am proudest of is not the code. I convinced close to 10 consultants, people with roughly 5 to 10 years of experience in their fields, to put their time on the platform. Getting real experts to sign up is the harder half of building anything that has to bring two sides together.
The product is finished and works end to end. I have left it where it is and I am not developing it further.
