This site collects four things: what you type into a form, your email if you subscribe to the newsletter, the comments you leave on posts, and analytics about how the site gets used. Nothing is sold or shared with advertisers, and one email gets any of it deleted.
Form submissions. When you send a booking request or a contact message, I keep what you typed: your name, your email, and whatever else that form asked for. That is the only way I can reply to you.
Newsletter email. If you subscribe, I store your email address and which language you want the newsletter in.
Comments. If you comment on a post, I store the name you typed and the comment itself. Both appear on the page after I have read them. The email field is optional: if you fill it in, it is stored so I can reply to you, and it is never shown on the site or given to anyone.
Analytics and session recordings. The site uses PostHog to see which pages get read, which links get clicked, and how people move through the site. It also records browsing sessions so I can see where a page confuses people. Anything you type into a field is masked in those recordings, and the admin area is never recorded.
To reply to your booking requests, messages and comments, to send the newsletter you asked for, to see which articles are worth writing more of, and to fix the parts of the site people get stuck on.
Your data is never sold, rented, or handed to advertisers. There is no third party buying it from me because I do not sell it.
Form submissions, newsletter emails and comments live in Supabase, the managed PostgreSQL database this site runs on, behind access controls that only I can pass.
Analytics and session recordings are processed by PostHog. I use them to improve the site. They are not sold, and no advertising network gets them.
No advertising cookies and no consent wall. PostHog sets a cookie so that repeat visits count as one person instead of several. That is measurement, not advertising.
The site also keeps a few small things in your browser: whether you picked the light or dark theme, the name and email you last used on a comment form so you do not retype them, and which posts you liked. Those stay on your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are off the list.
You can also email me and ask me to delete your form submissions, your newsletter subscription, your comments, or all of it. I do it and confirm back. No questions, no retention forms.
